project 2 essay

this project was an extenstion of the first project. the project used the same pricipals but it was a more realistic aplication to those prinicpals that we will meet in the real world. many of the design prinipals are included in all if these designs.
the design element of emphasis is used in almost all the designs. for example, we would use ephasis on the viscom to acheive the goal of the assignment.
in my design, i tryed to create flow threw my design. i used angles and empplied arrows to draw the eye towards the viscom.
i alingened the v of visual with the v in viscomm. i also alligned the paragraph with the key board to ballance out the angles.

The Essay

The Essay
the far fetched concepts of design are hard for a beginer to grasp. a design is made up of elements that when put together in a useful way, can be visualy apealing. the princeiples of design are emphasis, contrast, balance, flow, alignment and repetition. these elements are vary important while creating a design. most natural designers can make design based off of these concepts without thinking. but just by learning these concepts, we can learn how to create designs.
emphisis is the first part of the design that your eye should be draw too. this should have the most visual weight which is what draws your eye to it. it should also should lead you to the foval point.
ballance is a design principal that makes sure that the whole paper has equal visual weight. this means that it should have equal visual weight to the emphisis. this will ballance out the design because the an unbalaned design is not visually appealing.
flow is the movement of the eye across the page. generally, a designer will use an implied line rather than a physical line to move your eye across the page. in my design, the flow is an implied line because its a line made by repeating the word flow rather than an actual line.
alignment is how things are placed on the paper in relation to angles. most things are up and down, or side to side. a good designer will use the alignment to his/her advantage and throw something off alignment to make the image interesting.
and last but not least, repetition. this element is basically just the placement of something over and over again. it is usually used by designers to repeat n object or even repeating a principal over and over again is vary visually appealing.
allong with the design concepts, a usefull tool in a designers arsinel is teh goden mean, also known as the rule of thirds. this concept devides the page up into 9 equal rectangles. it uses a formula based off of the circles were you devide the curcumferance by the diamater. this is how we have calculated pi and is infanent. there is a spot on the page that is refered to as infinaty.
